Autobodies by Lucas

Rose Metal Buildings works with a broad range of clients to create cost-effective and durable pre-engineered steel buildings. Autobodies by Lucas is a client that came to us with a design, and they needed help making it a reality. Learn about this project and what we did to support this client’s vision.

Project Specifications

Autobodies by Lucas contacted us to furnish and erect a design they had for their autobody shop. Located in Mechanicsburg, PA, the company already had access to garage structures but needed a facility to expand on their operating space. We looked at their existing design and brought their vision to life with a 5,220 square-foot metal autobody shop.

Metal autobody shops are easy to insulate, allowing employees to work year round inside the climate-controlled building.

Materials Used

We use the finest materials available to erect attractive, durable and low-maintenance buildings. With high-grade metal, we were able to create the building Autobodies by Lucas had on paper. For this project, our crew used:

  • A 24-gauge trapezoidal standing seam roof system for advanced waterproofing and energy efficiency.
  • A 26-gauge exposed fastener wall system for cost-effective installation and easy panel replacement.

Project Highlights

Along with the high-grade metal roof and wall systems, the metal auto repair shop building included 8-foot high metal liner panels. These metal liner panels add a clean look to space as well as offer long-term protection against wear.

This metal building has to be able to stand up to the heavy equipment and tools used in the environment, and metal liner panels add an extra layer of durability that Autobodies by Lucas wanted.

Building Use

When you work with a company to furnish and erect a building design, you need them to understand the building’s purpose, so all features reflect the use. Autobodies by Lucas needed a building that could accommodate cars, equipment, tools and employees, and we created a facility that met those needs.

The dimensions of the final furnish and erect project are:

  • 58 feet wide.
  • 90 feet long.
  • 17-foot 6-inch low eave height, single slope.
